Remote Advise and Assist (RAA) Virtual Accompany Kit (VAK)
The original concept was proposed in an email to SOCCENT by an SF Captain deployed in Iraq in mid-2014. The requirement was to develop a technology solution to enable US forces to provide direction, advice, and assistance while not physically present w/ Partner Nation (PN) forces. The Remote Advise and Assist (RAA) is the concept. The Virtual Accompany Kit (VAK) is one tool to accomplish to RAA.
The Virtual Accompany Kit is an integration solution of available COTs and GOTs systems, components and applications.
It consists of ITARs-compliant, simplistic peripheral device technology and architecture for use among Partner Nations (PN)/Foreign Security Forces (FSF). The technology allows US forces to provide direction, advice, and assistance while not physically present with PN/FSF. It also provides geographic location supporting ‘Positive Identification’ requirements for PN/FSF, and allows PN/FSF to systemically observe, collect, and transmit relevant surveillance and reconnaissance information. The requirement has expanded and WinTec has developed several product improvements in response to mission and user requirements for both the Low Signature and High Signature Original solutions.
