INNOVATION

SpyGlass is a Geographic Information System (GIS) and moving map engine built for experimentation support.  Our SW developers participating in these experiments identified the need to expand SpyGlass and make it the application that could provide C2, Situational Awareness, integrate standalone ISR systems and give users a Common Operating Picture that could be shared.

SpyGlass consolidates what used to be multiple stand-alone functions or applications into a single application.  SpyGlass has the capability to view:

  • Map Area
  • Toolbars
  • Camera Video
  • Video Viewer
  • Sensor Health Indications
  • Alerts Window
  • Review Window

The SpyGlass application was the application engine for the Austere Location Force Protection Kit (ALFPK).  It was also the source from which much of the current ATAK and WinTAK applications on mobile devices was based.
